Error: Inventory Item Does Not Have Inventory Tracking Enabled. How do I fix this?

If Inventory Tracking is not Enabled in Clover, SKU IQ will not be able to sync your quantity changes properly.

This error message occurs when inventory tracking is not turned on in Clover. This is fairly simple to resolve, however! Follow the steps below to turn on Inventory Tracking for your Clover Point of Sale.

  1. Log in to your Clover Dashboard

clover dashboard

  1. Navigate to the “Inventory” tab on the left hand menu

  1. Click on “Setup” under the Inventory tab

  1. Make sure that the checkboxes next to “Track Stock” and “Update item counts after each sale” are selected. You may want to uncheck “Allow negative stock counts” to prevent overselling as well. The last one is optional.

Once you’ve turned on the first two options, the item stock count will automatically decrease as an item is sold. Once the stock count reaches zero (if “allow negative stock counts” is turned off), the availability toggle next to the item in the item list and on the item detail page will automatically turn off and the item will not be available for sale until the stock count is increased.
